BUSINESS GUIDE

Medical × RASHIX / Testing (Analysis) × RASHIX As an additional shielding wall material for X-ray therapy and testing equipment

Protect Medical and Laboratory Analysis Workers from Radiation "RASHIX" demonstrates excellent shielding performance against X-rays for therapeutic and testing purposes.
In the medical field, CT and PET devices that utilize radiation as part of treatment are rapidly advancing.
The use of X-ray equipment, nuclear medicine and
radiotherapy equipment utilizing this radiation is expected to increase more in future.
It is necessary to protect medical workers from radiation exposure while conducting these treatments.

There were disadvantages in the workability and the wall thickness at the medical site
when using concrete and iron as shielding body in the past.
However, with "RASHIX", it can be installed in small and narrow spaces, noise or footsteps are also minimalized,
so we can reduce the influence on other treatment rooms.
In addition, the combination of "RASHIX" and concrete is used to materialize both space security and cost reduction.
Please use “RASHIX” as radiation shielding material from protecting both patients
and workers from X-ray exposure in medical facilities,
linear accelerators and heavy particle radiation treatment equipment.

Characteristics of“RASHIX”

● Excellent workability and short construction period
● Contains no harmful substances
● Constructed from nonmagnetic material
● Excellent heat resistance
It is fired at a high temperature of 1300°C.
● Excellent chemical resistance
It is a stable material against acid, alkalis, and salt.
● Excellent abrasion resistance
"RASHIX" which is a ceramic fired at high-temperature and for a long-time with no age deterioration.

Main Specifications (Standard Block Specification) and Transmittance

* It has been verified, experimentally, that it is effective as radiation shielding material.
* Even with the same equipment, the effective operation load in three months (mAs every three months), the lead equivalence will also change depending on the arrangement of the equipment and the direction and surrounding circumstances of the utilization line cone. Please contact us for more information.

Do you have any trouble with the new construction and
renovation of treatment and examination rooms?

  • Hospital design and construction is proceeding and it is impossible to change it.
  • We would like to conduct shielding construction while conducting medical treatment at the same time.
  • We are considering the introduction of linac.
  • Because there isn't enough shielding in the building, we cannot increase existing linac output and operation time.
  • We are considering replacing the linac, but there is no budget until the renovation of the building.
  • We want to change the installation position of the X-ray equipment in the examination room.
  • In a tenant clinic in a collective building, the X-ray clinic is in close contact with other tenants, so it is necessary to take X-ray protection measures.
  • It’s too difficult to provide any shields with heavy material such as lead for examination vehicles, walls, and ceiling.

In order to protect our lives, medical diagnosis and treatment using radiation continue to evolve rapidly. In the future medical facilities will be increasing the installation of X-ray equipment using radiation, nuclear medicine equipment, radiotherapy equipment and MRI equipment using electromagnetic waves. Under such circumstances, we believe that it is very important to protect the health care workers and researchers who use the equipment from exposure, as well as the patients' lives.
Using "RASHIX", it allows shielding installation work to be carried out easily. We would like to contribute to the materialization of medical/examination environments that can diagnose and treat with peace of mind.

4) They were reviewing the introduction of linac by refurbishing the basement, it turned out that it was not possible to add concrete to the walls. We were able to bring "RASHIX" to the basement, and were highly praised for its ability to be layered in construction, and it was adopted.

Medical × RASHIX For Nuclear Medicine RI Waste Primary Storage Container

Japan Radioisotope Association designated
shielding device compliant with RI waste container*.
It is also compliant with RI waste external containers (drum cans) and other containers.

● No finger stuffing
The weight of each block is 3 kg or less per piece. Easy to handle, you can work safely.
● No concerns of falling
It joins in exclusive shapes, so there is no worry of falling.
● Lead free
It does not contain lead or any other heavy metals. It can be touched and discarded safely.
● No leakage
There are no straight joints. Radiation never leaks from the joints or anchors.

What is RI waste?

1. Those contaminated with radioactive isotope caused by usage based on the law concerning the prevention of radiation damage by radioactive isotope.
2. Those contaminated with radioisotopes for medical application, positron CT and radioactive isotopes caused by usage based on medical law.
3. Those contaminated with radioisotopes for radioimmunotherapy or radioisotopes generated due to usage based on the law on clinical laboratory technicians, etc.
4. Items contaminated by radioactive materials generated by work based on the law (Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Law) on securing quality, effectiveness, and safety of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, etc.
5. Notwithstanding above mentioned 1 to 4, this excludes usage under the regulations of nuclear source material, nuclear fuel material, and atomic reactor, and items generated by business.
